据能源世界7月28日消息，荷兰皇家壳牌公司周二表示，将收购可再生能源零售商Inspire energy Capital LLC，这家欧洲巨头正寻求扩大其在美国的可再生能源业务。
壳牌旗下子公司壳牌新能源美国有限责任公司(Shell New energy U.S. LLC)达成的这笔交易，推进了壳牌建立和扩大可再生能源和低碳业务的战略，目标是到2050年成为净零排放能源业务。
在今年5月荷兰法院做出一项具有里程碑意义的裁决后，壳牌一直在寻找方法，以加速其能源转型战略，并深化碳减排。
与其他石油公司一样，壳牌也受到投资者的压力，要求削减导致地球变暖的温室气体排放。该公司表示，计划到2025年增加在可再生能源和低碳技术方面的支出，占总预算的比例最高可达25%。
Inspire目前为特拉华州、伊利诺伊州、马萨诸塞州、马里兰州、新泽西州、纽约州、俄亥俄州、宾夕法尼亚州和华盛顿特区的大约23.5万名住宅客户提供服务，此次交易将进一步巩固壳牌作为美国住宅客户电力供应商的现有地位。

Royal Dutch Shell Plc said align="justify"> The deal, by the company's unit Shell New Energies U.S. LLC, advances Shell's strategy to build and scale renewable and low-carbon businesses with a target to become a net-zero emissions energy business by 2050.
Shell has been seeking ways to accelerate its energy transition strategy and deepen carbon emission cuts following a landmark Dutch court ruling in May.
Like other oil companies, Shell has come under investor pressure to slash planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions and said it plans to increase its spending align="justify"> Inspire, which currently serves about 235,000 residential customers in Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Washington DC, will add to Shell's existing position as a power supplier to residential customers in the United States alongside MP2 Energy.
The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year.
