UK releases hydrogen strategy
The UK government has outlined a strategy to build a national hydrogen sector.
The plan, unveiled align="justify"> The proposed Net Zero Hydrogen Fund will see USD 332 million put towards new hydrogen plants.
The sector will be built using contracts for difference in a similar manner to the UK’s successful offshore wind sector.
The plan will be launched in 2022.
It is in line with the UK’s strategy to become carbon neutral by 2050 and comes three months before the COP26 climate change conference in Glasgow.
