据海上石油新闻网2019年10月29日意大利米兰圣多纳托报道，意大利石油巨头埃尼公司旗下的油田服务子公司萨伊博姆(Saipem)和芬兰海浪能技术开发商Wello OY公司日前已同意在西班牙北部海上的比斯开海洋能源平台(BiMEP)试验区部署后者的WEC Penguin技术。
BiMEP是一个开放的海洋标志区，它致力于支持浮动海洋可再生能源设备原型的研究和技术测试。
萨伊博姆将把这个WEC Penguin“WEC2”从位于奥克尼群岛的一个建造场地运到BiMEP测试区。工作内容包括拖曳、系泊装置、WEC2的部署、运行和维修以及其他海羊工程。
WEC Penguin技术是为了让浮动的船体通过一个直接连接到发电机上的旋转器将海浪的运动转变为能量。
上个月，两家公司签署了一份优化WEC Penguin技术的谅解备忘录。

Saipem to deploy wave energy system offshore Spain
Saipem and Wello Oy have agreed to deploy the latter’s WEC Penguin technology at the Biscay Marine Energy Platform (BiMEP) test area offshore northern Spain.
BiMEP is an open sea marked zone dedicated to supporting research and technical testing of prototype floating marine renewable energy devices.
Saipem will transport the WEC Penguin “WEC2” from a yard in the Orkney Islands to the BiMEP test area. Works encompass towing, mooring installation, deployment of the WEC2, operation and maintenance, and other marine works.
WEC Penguin technology enables a floating hull to transform the motion of ocean waves into energy through a rotator directly connected to a generator.
Last month the companies signed a memorandum of understanding to optimize WEC Penguin technology.
Francesco Balestrino, Renewables and Green Technologies Business Development Manager of Saipem’s XSIGHT Division, said: “… this project represents Saipem’s first opportunity to perform a project in the marine energy field that is consistent with our diversification strategy.”
